Why I push so hard for independents to become Democrats when that is how they vote.

I think saying someone is an Independent because they don't want to take responsibility is not correct. I can only speak for myself. But, I believe that many of them expect Dems are just going to go back to the same Ole, same Ole, if we are able to make progress in this election.

I'm in Florida. The Dems on my ballot ran unopposed, so no primary vote needed. I voted straight ticket dem in the general, so I don't know how the letter behind my name changes anything. I'm not in love with the Dem party. But the other option are fascist.

This is Texas Jack. These Supreme Court members need to be removed and held liable for granting a known convicted felon, immunity for any criminal acts as president of the United States. All of the enablers of Donald Trump should be convicted and put in jail.

Question: Is it possible for Congress to move both the DOJ and the FBI to the Legislative branch? We need to establish the rule of law. Both answer to a criminal. This has to be fixed.

I agree! I used to be an Independent. But, in Florida, we couldn’t vote in the primaries. I’ve always voted Democrat and I began to realize how important it was to vote in our state elections.

We have an open primary for D and R, but I wanted to be counted as Democrat. I want the primary ballot to automatically be mailed to me, and I want the Democrats to send me everything they do. It felt good to tell the ladies at the Democrat table I am a Democrat when I went to the poll. 💙

Exactly. Most states have closed primaries because only party members should be choosing our candidates. Independents rail about the candidates but won’t join the party to help drive candidate quality and improve the party. If you’re not in the party, your voice carries no wait.

As an independent, who represents you in any political body? We aren't a parliamentary system, so your special interests/preferences are special to no organized force except one of two parties. If you don't like these parties, join one and help change it. That's how we got here in the first place.

Yes, now, because of the takeover after Reagan. But it's not irreversible over time. If Repugnicans lose big enough for enough election cycles, more reasonable people will step into the void. It's not healthy for a two-party system to be so incapable of compromises and dialog to govern.

If people live in a closed primary state where you have to declare to cast a primary ballot this is def good advice. People should also be aware that states like this have wildly different deadlines for declaration. Primaries are without exaggeration the most impactful way to engage to change the

direction of a party, short of running yourself. The turnout is abysmally low so your vote matters more. It's been via primaries that the far right has taken over that party by getting behind the ones with the most extreme views. Then the less savvy ones go out and elect everyone with a (R).

I'm bloody fed up arguing with people who abstain from elections because they don't like this or that about the Dems. I ask if they bothered to vote in the primary...no. Then don't whine. You haven't earned the right. Deadlines www.ncsl.org/elections-an...

Being independent doesn't mean you don't take responsibility for your choices. It is quite the opposite. You take full responsibility because you are not beholden to one party. Since 2016 it has been clear there is only one party for democracy. They earned my vote. That doesn't make me a Democrat.

After the damage Donarrea has done to your beautiful country! It will be decades before the GOP will ever hold office or be trusted, not just in the US but around the world!

I'm sorry, Fetterman is a loss cause. I have had a traumatic brain injury and he has never been given any counseling for his disability that I can see. It took me 3 years of it to be able to work. TBI's really is hard in making the correct in choices problem solving Paul, I don't see that in him

I talk to younger people to explain to them they are not old enough to know what it's like to live under a Democrat controlled government. Maybe not always perfect but so much better.

For me, political parties are the same as religions...worthless cults. I vote for people, not parties. There are good possible employees who will do good work for their employers and have different political views. If we do away with the electoral college, gerrymandering/party will fade away. IMO

I consider myself independent but have voted Democrat over 50 years now. Not because I’m a party voter I’m a issue voter , democrats work More for average folks , republicans work for corporate welfare and the elites

We each have or own ways of navigating life. I suppose I have an objection to being anyone's or anything's sheep. I refuse to follow blindly when I can actually think for myself. I've voted for people from all parties just because I believed they will best serve their employers.

I agree but the John McCain republican no longer exist and how odd how much I actually miss Liz Cheney and mitt Romney I did not agree with their politics but they still had respectability ! That’s gone now in republicans. They are not pro life Not family value NOT fiscally responsible it’s a facade

I was a Democrat until last year and became Independent because I hate the corporate democrats and how they don't fight. I'll always be more Progressive and will never vote with the Nazi party.

Texas Paul, people listen to you! If national Dems want to flip a seat, look at WY. Inside Elections shifted it from Solid to Likely R because voters reject Chuck Gray. Lisa Kinney has a real shot, but she needs outside funding & grassroots signal boost. Can you help rally support?

Full blooded Democrat here💙I vote blue all the way down the ticket; Social Safety Nets Civil and Voting Rights Healthcare Access Climate and Energy Economic Policy fact-based public education free to practice their own religion Democrats believe in taking care of our people first Equal rights etc!!
