I stumbled on an article. It seems that a man by the name of Paul Singer of Elliot Investment Management recently purchase Citgo, through its subsidiary Amber Energy for $5.9 billion from an auction. Apparently Venezuela defaulted on their bond payments so it went up for auction in November of 2025.
