I've had deep fried Twinkies, milky way, twix, Oreo, and others. County fairs in LA will drop fry anything you want

There's Deep Fried Tunnock's Tea Cakes but I'm not sure if there's anywhere in Edinburgh that'd do them. I've never had one but it does have the mix of deep fried and scottishness :)
