This isn't about games but same for games. Please don't let anyone tell you you're doing creative things "wrong", including myself. You're not here to make my things, or their things, you're here to make your things. Feedback is just another perspective - believe in yourself.

One of the ways that this manifests is: feedback on your game is not the same as a to-do list. You have the design, you have the vision. All you should care about WRT feedback is if the players are getting the experience YOU want them to have.

I think this is a very important point. As someone who has been writing about games for too long it always infuriates me if something is evaluated as „x is not like y, but x is kinda like z“ and how about you judge something on its own merit

You'll find the right balance over time, based on your own (financial) safety and opportunity and the outcome of the roulette wheel - and you'll fuck up along the way! Those fuckups too, will make you you, and they'll shape the feedback you pass down later. You don't have to get this perfect.
