This is genuinely what the direction of the first episode is like.

Someone told me to watch Alien: Earth because they said it was one of the best things they've seen all year. Unfortunately, I believed them. The first episode was awful. If I ever see another crossfade transition in my life, it will be too soon.

Romulus was a lot better but the tv show feels like watching the original alien content just better graphics. Same cheesy film style, same dorky writing. Im so here for it and Alien Earth is def a fav of mine. Just imagine its an 80s vibe! (I just love Alien period so I am VERY biased lmao)

That's valid. I don't have a whole lot of nostalgia for Alien, so the style of filming is probably lost on me. Guess it's just not to my taste - but good to see plenty of love for such an iconic sci-fi series.
