When Democrats talk about their GOP "friends," they sound like soap opera actors patiently explaining to hardcore fans that they don't really hate their arch-nemesis on the show. "We're very good friends in real life. We go to the same gym, sometimes vacation together. We're just acting, you know!"

But this analogy sucks, frankly. Members of Congress are not playacting. They are making policy and legislative proposals that affect the US economy, government, international position and world ecology. They must call out when the "other side" does not prioritize our country & people's interest.
