I serve on the board of the Portland Playhouse and I’ve expected that we’d get hit eventually. Joe Turner's Come and Gone by the great August Wilson is a wonderful piece of American art, but it’s not a surprise why the government would not see it that way.

We got our doge letter from the NEA yesterday too. I knew it was coming, but was wishfully thinking that we could actually finish our project before the funding was cut. (Creative Placemaking). At least our artists got paid, so there’s that.
