I updated my Amazon account to use the nickname instead of my real name. Apparently I was on a family plan with my parents because my mom goes "who is (nickname) and why are they tied to your account" (the goal was for my mom to never find out because she's been really upset about name related

discussions in the past). i decided fr*ck it and told her that my friends who were visiting it called me it as a nickname and i liked it (both true, but i asked them to call me it) so i made it my name on some online accounts and asked people at choir to call me it and she had a surprisingly

measured response (when i was considering a legal name change a few years ago she called me crying and said "You're breaking my heart"). (Her response was "You can keep the name on the account as (nickname) if you want.")
