You may use my plugins Orchestrion, PrefPro, Damage Info, or Housemate, but I also have a plugin that is not available on the main Dalamud repository called Chronofoil. Its purpose is to capture and archive XIV network traffic from any volunteer willing to use it. github.com/ProjectChron...

i feel kinda stupid having to reach out since I'm sure I'm overlooking something very obvious. but chronofoil logged me out as i tried to update the plugin. I'm not sure how to proceed and i don't want to corrupt any captures that were made pre DT.

Hey, thank you for using Chronofoil! Your captures are safe on your system regardless of whether you choose to upload them, if you're logged in, or even if they're already uploaded. Sometimes hiccups in the system cause people to get logged out, especially because of how long plugins were down.

Since the plugin captures everything, it has censorship built-in with mechanisms that auto-detect how to censor certain aspects of gameplay that people would likely want to keep private, like in-game letters they send and receive. There's also controls for when your data becomes available to others.

My hope is that by archiving this game traffic, future (and current) reverse-engineering efforts become significantly easier. As far as I know, there is no project like this for another other MMO. It is the closest we can get to preserving server behavior without access to its code.

I've spent a long time theorizing about a tool like this and I'm glad I made it come true. There's currently a diverse set of uploaders that contribute consistently - and over 5000 captures dating back to the week before Dawntrail - but if you feel comfortable, more data is always better.

Two more things to close this off: - Please contact me directly or create an issue on either the Web or Plugin repository if you encounter problems - If you were annoyed by the upload process in the past, version 1.0.1.0 today adds quick uploads - a one-click upload option Thanks for reading!
