yes! 🙌 this is what I want. I want every website to have their frontend open-source so anyone can just fix any random bug they find if they want

At that point the IP would be meaningless since the final product could be forked and possibly used against them via competition. Development isn't cheap. There is a tight balance between what should be considered OS and what should remain proprietary.

What do you disagree with? The inherent cost of software development and motivations for being a creator or cases where a forked project ended up competing against the original author?

The frontend of this app is fully open sourced. Yes anyone can fork it and emulate the backend but that also takes a lot of work. It’s less work just recreating it

But there still is a cost associated with the labor involved in creating the original application. Developer time is not free, nor infinite.

The disconnect is that I’m saying there less risk publishing the frontend code. There is still a risk yes but I believe the benefit outweighs the risk. A product value is the sum of its parts. Frontend is just one of everything needed to make the whole
