For the past 30 years I have been creating a detailed photographic archive of England’s parish churches. The archive contains nearly 600,000 images. I am currently working towards making this publicly available through the Parish Churches App. 2/6

The app has been in development for the past six months and I am pleased to be able to release the first version today along with an initial database of just over 1000 churches and 60,000 images (one tenth of my archive). 3/6

Each church has been photographed both externally and internally along with the contents. The database not only contains photographs but a brief description of each subject. In addition there is a comprehensive searchable index of people associated with the subjects. 4/6

This includes the artists and architects as well as all people commemorated with their dates of birth and death along with brief biographical information where applicable. 5/6

Further information can be found on the Parish Churches website parishchurches.org and in the Help system within the app. This release provides the churches of Rutland free of charge. Access to the rest of the archive is by subscription. 6/6
