seeing how fast ai coding is evolving is really uncomfortable as someone who spent my entire life building that skill. at least with ai art it looks bad, what happens when we can't even tell the difference between code on the outside? the market will be 20x more saturated

this has already happened and yeah it sucks. the end user cannot tell if something was coded with AI, and most people Do Not Care. even a lot of people who are against AI in art think it’s fine when used for programming. also if you get a job as a programmer you will use AI or get fired

the argument that AI is bad because it is ineffective (ugly art) will only get weaker as companies pour more money into developing AI. but that was never the problem imo. AI was built on stolen labor and continues to steal people’s livelihoods

if you’re talking about market saturation for indie gamedev, i don’t think AI is as big a factor as you’re saying however. even if AI gets way better, AI slop games wouldn’t be the ones that succeed. we already have an ocean of games that fail, the Undertales and Stardews won’t be AI slop

on a personal note, the decisions i have seen you make in your work are not something an AI prompter would ever have made. you have a really cool creative vision and ability to shape it into something even cooler as you go through the process of implementing it. which is something AI Does Not Do

I saw somebody say "I wouldn't be able to do what I love without ai" You are much more capable than you think! You are barely doing anything, you did not make this, ai did
