One thing I find intensely annoying is when pundits blithely assert things about the world that are obviously false. Bush was below 50% way before Katrina! He barely won reelection! Where on the chart do you think Katrina happened?

If not for the 9/11 bump, he would have been intensely disliked for the entire presidency that his brother stole for him.
