Based on WSJ sources, Trump administration officials are reportedly floating former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán for UN secretary-general, potentially backed by the US, Russia and China.

US, Russia and China agreeing on one candidate tells you the job description: a Secretary-General who treats borders as a starting offer. Orbán already has the resume. The General Assembly votes, and its 193 members reject a US pick rather than rubber-stamping it.

Before a Candidate is submitted to a vote of the GA, they need to be recommended by the Security Council. Hard to imagine France and the UK not vetoing Orbán. This sounds more like an attempt to deadlock the process at the SC and discredit the UN.
