Japan accuses the U.S. of failing to deliver $6.9B in military equipment, with 118 FMS contracts delayed over five years, forcing reliance on older gear and leaving critical systems like the E-2D Hawkeye unsupported despite advance payments.

Well the current POTUS is most famous for stiffing contractors out of due money and litigating them into bankruptcy rather than pay. It was his thing when he was on the state level .. and he was great at it

Unreliable ally. So I'm not surprised. This is the new world order, which means you should expect America will not act with honour. Shake on the deal, but count your fingers after and presume they might renege. Similar to how Russia acted, where Europe made the mistake of trusting them🙄

The EU is ramping up arms production now, better late than never but the single biggest loser in all this will be the American Arms Industry Without doubt Before too long they will be screaming like stuck pigs

If allies can prepay billions and still not receive critical defense systems, what does that mean for U.S. credibility, deterrence, and alliance trust in an increasingly unstable world?

Sounds like Japan is learning what contractors all over the eastern seaboard have learned about Trump the hard way .. He's a thief and a liar, and his word isn't worth a bowl of festering dog snot. (h/t 'UHF')

It might not be just Trump—Denmark wasn’t allowed to give their F-16s to Ukraine until they bought F-35s, and those were delayed so long the Danes actually accused the Biden WH of slow-walking them—only for them to get shipped pretty fast after Copenhagen started talking to the media.

Not very inspiring to any potential F-35 buyers. Late and unsupported describes a poor supplier. Escalating price and very high maintenance costs describe a poor purchase choice. We should heed the Japanese experience.

US is only after 2 things: - to impose its products with incomplete options/efficiencies on its "allies" - to maintain allies's security dependency and put pressure on them JPN was right with its provocation regarding nuclear weapons US is no longer a reliable partner World must withdraw from NPT
