It bears repeating that NATO is a defensive alliance. You go attack some country, that's on you. Also bears repeating that the only time Article 5 has been invoked was after 9/11 in support of the US, and NATO went to war. Say thank you, Donald.

It's not a question of trust. Israel isn't in NATO. There's nothing in the NATO treaty about Israel. Most of Israel's people left the safety of NATO countries, and that was their (clearly dumb) choice.

Not enough people focused on the nuances of Diplomacy any more.

The North Atlantic Treaty - NATO - is founded on the UN Charter, peaceful solutions and collective defense in the North, the opposite of wars of aggression.

NATO is a defense alliance. It does not mean that every time a member decides to independently go on offense against some country that they can count on other members jumping in to support the cause. That's not how it works.
