Before they invest millions in sawmills and staff, timber companies oughta know that this gets shut down the second Trump loses a court case or an election.

Nothing says "reviving an industry" quite like destroying the very resource the industry depends on. It’s the economic equivalent of burning your house down to keep the furnace running for an hour.

The lumber industry has been given a budget of available trees, and they should be held to that budget. They're Conservatives, right? They congratulate themselves for replanting, yet they still demand large trees for EXPORT. If given free rein, they'd take every large tree in our nation.

When given the option, loggers will ALWAYS cut the largest, oldest trees and leave saplings, even tho' large trees most likely to survive a wild fire. So, "This is a guy who lives here and is tired of seeing these beautiful places burn up" remember they are not "tired" of clearcutting the forest.

Nice pun. It is the wasted framing of demolishing homes instead of recycling their materials that is in need of change. Not more logging. I lived in a logging region, I know how ugly, crude and wasteful it is just because of the lower profit margin in selective logging instead of clearcutting.

It’s not about saving an industry or preventing fires. It’s about grift and graft. It’s about Trump believing everything belongs to him and he can sell-off anything he wants. He enriches himself, his family and his donors

Not many Native Americans live in National Forests and the number living in "roadless"areas is vanishingly small.

No, I don't understand. No ethnic group can claim control over all US land and exert veto power over everyone else's law-abiding activity. Especially in uninhabited areas.

My impression is that the image is great regardless of how it was created. It depicts a factually correct situation in a clear and candid way that millions of Americans of all races and walks of life agree with. We do way too much clear cutting because selective logging has a lower profit margin.

This ignores a major issue of how demolished wood framed structures are just broken up for landfill when in fact they are a very valuable opportunity to recycle lumber and save forests. Very few operations currently do this. Regardless of cost there is more than one kind of cost to wasted resources.

Did a lumber industry rep write or pay for this? This is propaganda for the lumber industry and the Trump regime. No alternative perspectives included! Also wtf is this?
