You keep making the mistake of believing that Trump has any sort of political ideology. His only goals are to hoard as much wealth as he can, while terrorizing as many people as he can. He's more akin to Smaug than any former president.

Has he though? Roosevelt also intervened in Venezuela, Columbia, and Cuba.

Trump is cashing in America's accumulated political capital. All of it. Very rapidly. He gets away with it because the "don't mess with the US" voting bloc is every bit as stupid as he is.
