Most people approach habits the wrong way. They focus on the outcome and the process: "I want to lose 10 pounds" "I will start exercising and dieting" But they forgot about the role of identity: "Who do you need to become to achieve that?" Let me explain:

1. Your brain likes consistency between your identity and actions. When you think, “I'm not a morning person,” hitting snooze feels right. But if you switch to, “I’m someone who values my mornings,” waking up becomes part of who you are.

2. Identity first, habits will follow Shift your mindset: I want to read every day → I am a reader I want to run each morning → I am a runner I want to stop smoking → I am a non-smoker

3. Self-reinforcing feedback loop - Your identity creates your habits - Your habits reinforce your identity When you see yourself as "healthy person," you make choices that align with that (e.g. eating well). Each action, even small, strengthens your belief you are that person

It is not about perfection, it is about consistency. Ask yourself: "Who do I want to become?" "What would that person do today?" Start small, start now and watch your habits and identity grow together. What identity are YOU building? 👇
