Ukraine has revealed the long‑range cruise missile Bars for the first time. With an estimated 700–800 km range and classic mid‑wing design, Bars is believed to be in mass production and used. Photos released by the Museum of the Russo‑Ukrainian War confirm its layout and jet engine placement.

The Ukrainians are reportedly in the process of calibrating their software. That will enable the otherwise easily detectable Flamingos to fly low enough to not be immediately shot down by Russian anti-air defences. We can expect more Flamingo strikes in early 2026, or perhaps even in late December.

Given AI's acute ability to accurately and swiftly identify images, I am concerned that the release of these photos may help bolster Russian identification of incoming and on the ground threats.
