I'm not vegan, but I'm getting increasingly convinced that getting a non-vegan option when the vegan one is as easy to get (e.g. picking one dish vs one other at the restaurant) is completely unethical.

We know that vegan diet is better for: - animals, who don't like getting tortured - humanity, as food is one of the most polluting industries and animal products pollute much more for a given amount of nutrients - individuals, as animal-based foot increases risk of a wide range of diseases

There's a burger chain called Max that prominently displays carbon footprint of the menu items. The difference between their (planty) vegan options and a big beef one is almost 10x AFAIR

Half the menu is vegan too. It's a Scandinavian chain, there's a few of them in Warsaw. I'm not gonna pretend I understand how.

And I do understand that often vegan food requires more effort, because it's not what we're used to both as individual and as a society. And like, lazyness and "it's what I grew up doing" is a major player in my decisions. That's why I'm not vegan!

But if it's literally the same amount of effort? Then it's just cruel against yourself, your fellow humans and the other animals.

It's really funny that I'm vegan for exactly the opposite reason. I do it because it's easier for me and I got used to it. I don't even think that it is inherently bad to eat animal products, I just don't do it myself.
