Driving an e-vehicle the other day and had a sad reaching for the stick shift and clutch, like can't we pretend? There's fifty non tactile touchscreens and all I'm asking for is one vestigial stick and pedal.

Agreed! We didn't remove stairs from buildings when elevators were invented, we shouldn't have removed direct non-computerized manual control over a vehicle just because iPad screens happened to become affordable to replace the entire dash with!
