Batman: The Video Game was released in early 1990, shortly after the 1989 summer blockbuster film. A Sunsoft classic, it matches the dark aesthetic although doesn't follow the plot. The music slaps, and the controls are responsive making the necessary wall jumps a lot easier youtu.be/aWnKvF9cIBY

Sunsoft could make an NES soundtrack sound enormous. Batman is a good example of how music and movement can establish a mood even when the game isn't following the film beat for beat.

I finally got to the end of this game 20 years later and realized how impossible Joker was. As a kid i rented it at the corner store at my neighborhood, back when they let you rent video games. But slowly migrated to PC,MAC,PSP and finally an NES flash cart, just to play this game again. wild boss
