Claude code seems to love trying to use grep, cat, find etc on the CLI instead of the inbuilt tools causing so many permission prompts during plan mode. Started happening a few days ago. Is it a known thing or something wrong on my side?

What helps is that you define a default set of permissions needed to do a planning session, implementation session and so on. For example an agent has no business pushing something to remote unless the review agent says it's good to go.

From time to time I let Claude gather from each working folder what permissions I gave, and then add them to the skills or workflows I defined for those tasks. You're basically using the command line arguments for permissions and some scaffolding instructions, when starting a given type of session.
