Did you explain the acausal robot god part of rationalism?

Oh yes, he's familiar. (He was also a philosophy major, so he has a very dim view of it)

I was so stunned when I learned that the title My Immortal was based on an evanescence song

Is there a third Insane Harry Potter Fanfiction to complete the unholy Trinity of: * My Immortal * Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality * ?????

Oh that poor man.

He's extremely offline, and relies on me to deliver relevant information. Unfortunately, all of these things have become relevant.

He doesn't know about Aella yet right... Right?

Will "scifantasy" Frank

I am going to regret asking this, but, how has My Immortal become relevant?

I've definitely mentioned it to him before, he just forgot. Weirdly enough, it was one of his students who brought it up. Husband said "apparently the rationalists are really tied to one famous harry potter fanfic?" and one of his law students asked "wait, is it My Immortal?"

I'm not saying I don't understand why. It's just...he got a Speedrun of the lowlights of the last twenty years of Online Discourse.

Hey guess who assumed their vaguely online husband knew about the AI Harry Potter fanfic sex cult and casually mentioned being surprised it was breaking containment and found out that no he most certainly did not know about it.

Husband: wait, what's the fanfic actually ABOUT? Me: It's just... there. Husband: ... Me: It's more like a textbook than a fanfic? Husband: ...??? Me: I literally cannot explain it any more than that. Just go look it up. Husband: but I don't WANT to perceive it with my own eyes
