yeah I have so many people replying to me like "they don't plan to answer to the voters" I mean of course they don't but their "plan" is, by all appearances, of underpants gnomes level of sophistication. 1) Do crime in public. 2) ??? 3) Never lose power.

i know one view is that "they don't intend to lose power" but i honestly think this gives them way too much credit.

Like we should never ever ever underestimate their capacity for evil, and being brazenly willing to do evil while making aggressive eye contact and saying "lol stop me" has unfortunately proven to be depressingly effective! but! can we stop acting like these are very bright people???

they are not brilliant. the billionaires and institutions in this country are just more craven than we could have ever imagined, even in our most cynical imaginings. (don't tell me you could imagine. I won't give you a medal.)

The billionaires haven't had to think very hard for a while now. When everything just gets handed to you when you ask for it, you just assume when you decide to do evil, people will let you. No one's ever told them no. Clever schemes are so far beyond them now.
