Today, we’re excited to introduce Attie, currently as an invite-only closed beta. Attie is the first agentic social app on atproto. It’s something completely new — an experiment in making building on the protocol more accessible.

Wait, it shows any public Bluesky data? So it doesn't respect signals like "don't show my posts to logged out users?" It won't respect quote detachments? Will it show you posts from users who have blocked your account? It'll bypass Bluesky moderation !hide labels?

Every single visibility and privacy control on this website is operating over public data. It all depends on clients being willing to voluntarily care about user signals. Does Attie keep that voluntary contract? If it doesn't, that's a problem.

And If does keep that contract, and if it is literally being developed by the Bluesky devs and they have full control over its front-end code, why can't we have a user signal to keep our posts from showing up inside of Attie?

You can block its account and people will absolutely make labelers and blockers for stuff on protocols "developed" by it so yea, you really can

It's not currently possible to block a feed from including your posts. Attie is just creating feeds that pull posts from Bluesky in general, which is all public currently. I would like to see the ability to opt-out of feeds, which I don't believe they have yet.

I was more talking about what it seems its end goal is- accounts using that would be blockable. Opting out of feeds is an interesting idea though!
