Platner isn't running on a fascist agenda so I'm not sure where the red brown alliance comes from. He says LESS fascist stuff than many moderate Democrats lol

If Platner was coming out and saying "actually Trump is getting stuff right on trans people and immigrants" you'd have a point but he's not (unlike some moderate Dems)

1. He's a gun nut so don't count on him trying to stop kids from being killed in schools 2. Nazi tattoo for 20 years he continuously lied and continues to lie about.

The gun thing is absolutely not a red brown alliance thing lol, lots of Dems have moderate views on guns because of the states they represent

Good question. Insufficient data. Republican yesterday, maybe Republican tomorrow. Belligerent vs Senate D caucus & leadership. OTOH, Collins. Unenviable choice -- but irrelevant unless Collins oppo cannon shoots blanks.

Honestly, this argument only matters if you think he's 51. Given the polling and how strong of a candidate we know Collins is in ME he's probably 53ish. NC, OH, AK, IA are the path to 51. ME and TX are longshots. Don't sleep on FL either.

It matters if it matters. Counting Fetterman, with Michigan a potential trainwreck, we need to run the table. Platner swears he won't vote for Schumer - caucus favorite despite a small vocal faction against - but I trust his word is no good.😉

Yes, but that's a pyrrhic victory. The lasting harm a Nazi (D) will do far outweighs any short term gains. The DNC is in debt and can't raise money. Every candidate is being asked about platner. The response to any Democrat who calls out Republican racism will be "yeah, well y'all elected a Nazi"

We've had literal former KKK members as Senate Democrats and no I don't think that helped Republicans make the argument of "actually Democrats are the real racists"

"it's fine, we've had kkk members decades ago" isn't really the flex you think it is. What you're really saying is "it doesn't matter if they're Nazis or Klukers, as long as they vote with us" also, the fact the DNC can't raise money against trump is a pretty big problem.

An argument to have with specific states who either can't field better candidates, or better candidates who can't get their message out. For Maine (!), at this point and barring some risky ranked-vote strategy maybe, it's either vote for the known Trump entity, or the alternative. Sucks but is.

You'll have a 2 year window to block SCOTUS and hope neither dies after that because we have more elections in 2 years. Only hope is structure court reform which requires a coalition you can't build with a Nazi in your ranks.
