in Vekllei the anarchist police beat the shit out of you with a sword hilt for talking too loud on the train

The sabre hilt twists off with a button press to reveal a collapsible steel baton, giving them different levels of reach to avoid grappling people with all that equipment. It's worth remembering that policing in their setting is quite different, for better and worse.
