Guess what? I’ve been slowly but surely working on a @cyd.social mobile app with support for basically making your Bluesky account ephemeral. It’s not ready yet, but as I test I’m going to start deleting my old posts, reposts, likes, and chats (chat messages in my account, anyway)

For now I’m going to delete: - posts older than 60 days unless they have at least 20 likes and reposts - reposts older than 30 days - likes older than 30 days - chats older than 30 days I’ll probably get more aggressive in cleaning up old data with time too

It’s actually quite freeing to be able repost and like whatever you want, and note have a permanent public history of it all forever

Is the goal to make Bluesky a bit more like 4chan 🙃🥲 ?

That's something I been looking for, too! So far had only come across app that deletes all before date or keeps only last 100 or whatever. The conditionals you mention are perfectly filling the gap between that and no clean-ups at all 🍀

I’d love this for gmail ”Just keep the last years mail”, or “Delete everything I didn’t reply to”, etc.
