Good job, Algorithm, though of course I'm now watching it due to an explicitly non-algorithmic "friend" recommendation. Which I guess is a big part of why, following the algorithmic takeover of "social media", actual communication has (annoyingly) moved to private group chats.

Because people still want to strengthen social bonds via a shared media universe, even if an individualized feed of slop can be addictive. (This instinctive way of building social bonds by liking the same things is also why I don't think AI music/art will ever gain traction).
