Seeing new people joining Bluesky today and seeing people elsewhere publicly stating their intentions to leave those places and come here. Welcome. Bluesky is not owned by a billionaire sucking up to Trump. And it's built on an open protocol so a billionaire can't just take it over.

I have also now created my first "starter pack" which recommends 150 people and three good feeds. I didn't pick the 150 people all that carefully, but just went through my list of people I follow and chose the maximum number I could from folks who I regularly interact with. go.bsky.app/QKm8yFP

If you're new here and trying to "get started" I recommend checking out the #feeds link in your menu. There are ~60k different feeds available, most created by users. Or search for "starter packs" that have lists of recommended follows on all sorts of topics.

Also, if you want people on Mastodon to be able to see and respond to what you post here, follow @ap.brid.gy, and it will automatically mirror your Bluesky posts to Mastodon and other ActivityPub apps.

I’m a dev. Are you aware of anyone writing native platform clients that can speak both protocols? I am more familiar with ActivityPub than with AT. Is BlueSky even open to 3rd party clients?
