At Rails World 2025, I introduced ReActionView, an initiative to explore what's possible in the Rails view layer for 2025 and beyond. As part of this, I announced Herb::Engine, an ActionView-compatible ERB engine built on top of the HTML-aware Herb Parser. #RailsWorld2025

Fantastic work and gifts from @marcoroth.dev! Within the first 2 minutes of trying this, I can't imagine not having this rich set of tools for developing erb views, and it's only the first version! Thanks Marco for all you do and are doing 🎉

It brings better error messages, modern tooling, and new view features to Rails while staying backwards-compatible. I'm going to publish and summarize the talk in written form on my blog in the next few days, stay tuned!

This is interesting! I’ve been working with coding agents a lot lately and having them work on UI layers is a real crapshoot. Agents work best with tools that give them very concise and useful feedback. I’d be interested if this would help. Might have to wrap an MCP around it
