i'm probably late but i just realized how the domain name thing makes for such an inherently good verification method i questioned for a second whether this was an "official" react account, but that question answered itself immediately

did you know that you can conditionally exit an effect? this is useful if you want a subscription to only stay active while some condition is true, and to stay removed while that condition is false. a bit mindbending, but so it is with react!

It does have its limits (it mostly works out that way for organizations, not so much for like, public figures), but yeah, it kind of makes you wonder why we haven't been doing a version of this everywhere for years

Hadn't really thought about it, but yeah that is a super good point. Only possible issue is look alike domains, but that is still gonna be harder to abuse since it requires purchasing a domain.
