8/10 on IMDb is where good TV _begins_, and I demand higher ratings from anything scifi related since the fans grade on a curve. You also have to adjust for recency since early ratings are all high. I do wish people had more range when they rate. Often I look at the worst reviews to get their basis.

It goes for products, too. There is stuff sold on Amazon that simply does not function and the lowest reviews are like "this product does not work" but it has 4.8/5 stars and all the 5-star reviews are "prompt shipping".
