there is no greater buzzkill for getting work done than windows. 2 browser tabs + 1 console window open.... 12/16 GB used, with command startup times of minutes i don't know how im going to get any work done.

meanwhile my linux machine is sitting with 9+ tabs, multiple shells and is snappy as hell while sitting at sub 3GB of ram usage

Yeah, I've been running into this more and more lately. My personal PC's are all using a tiling WM and I move easily between contexts with a series of hotkeys. Windows...sort of can simulate a cargo-cult version of the workflow, but it's just GLACIALLY SLOW.

turns out windows borked iteslf so well that it broke windows update and that was running at full tilt in the background. solution?: reinstall windows 😭
