🎁 A surprise holidays gift: after over a year of hard work, we have just published Rolldown 1.0.0-beta.1!

We started with an ambitious goal: to build a Rust bundler from the ground up, with API compatibility with Rollup, and performance / feature parity with esbuild. While not 100% yet, we are almost there and are ready for early adopters to take Rolldown for a spin.

Check out the updated docs at rolldown.rs, which covers some important topics: why bundlers are still needed for the foreseeable future, why we built Rolldown, and how it differs from Rollup / esbuild.

And for Vite integration: we are now passing all relevant tests in github.com/rolldown/vite, the temporary fork of Vite that runs on Rolldown instead of esbuild / Rollup. Expect a proper release early 2025!
