dude if you get upset over seeing a pup hood you need to fucking grow up lmao. "but what about the children????" It's A Dog Hat You Fucking Moron. It's A Hat Shaped Like A Dog. that's literally all there is to it. "but i think it's weird" i really don't care, keep it to yourself

"don't wear kink gear in public, regardless of whether or not it actually shows anything" ok so you will also get upset at seeing people in... wetsuits, sneakers, hazmat suits, high heels, tennis socks, helmets, boots, mtx gear,... right? RIGHT? Because a ton of people get off on all of that too

if we’re being honest there’s a pretty clear difference between “thing made specifically for kink” and “thing that’s purpose is to accentuate attractiveness” and “thing that has a purpose but people have kinks related to it” and a pup hood falls in the first category while sneakers are in the third

also fwiw i think the first two categories are the same, the only difference is one of them being normalized while the other isn't.

i don’t believe so tbh. makeup and heels can be used to make someone feel less dysphoric without necessarily being for kink, and attractiveness isn’t necessarily sexual - that’s a part of asexuality

I can't really tell the difference between putting something on to look hot (that little black dress your partner likes, not kinky but sexy) and putting something on to look hot (harness, kinky)

oh for sure the line between “sexy” and “kinky” is completely arbitrary because “kink” is pretty definitionally “specialized sexiness” but a lot of fashion is about “attractiveness” in a more ambiguous way. “does John Wick wear a suit to look cool or to look sexy?” is wholly subjective

i think we are in agreement then? because my whole argument is just that while it may be subjective and you may form your own tastes and opinions, publicly calling a random person ugly or a freak for wearing something you don't like is really rude and making it a moral issue is regressive.
