I talked to a bunch of designers who had been profiled, received screenshots from their communications with 4 Pillars, @shannonappelcline.bsky.social, and was even able to speak to the person generating the profiles.

An excellent recap, analysis and investigation in the 4 Pillars debacle. Nicely done Lin! Reading your piece I found myself wondering if there's some mental illness at play with Whitman. This mixture of intense dedication to his project – such as it is – despite intense pushback is so bizarre!

I know it's shitty to armchair psychologize, but I'm struggling to see the grift. This can't be making any money, and I can't understand the path being attempted to do so! Just "I want to be legitimized but I have no awareness of how to be, so I'm badly AIing to prop everything up". Simulacrum?
