i don't imagine there are news outlets that would be interested since it only affects twitch streamers and we are lower than dirt, but the new AI "content warnings" that twitch has introduced for sponsored streams are crazy. it monitors what you're saying and pings you if you say a word like "beer"

from what i can tell there are zero consequences to this. you just get a little warning that you have to acknowledge. why does it exist, then? and why wouldn't they be explicit about it? perhaps because keeping it vague means they can threaten enforcement for something they would never enforce

denying a streamer payment because AI flagged what they said would create 100x more work for them and twitch support is already completely cooked. this way frightens streamers into being stilted little robots without them having to get into the difficult work of arbitrating what their contract says

anyway check out my sponsored stream tonight, i'll be playing gears of war: e-day and repeatedly saying "I am big time honking on a bong" to see what happens

It's cool that playing a video game sponsored by the US army where you blow up people's heads with huge munitions is ad safe but if you think about gay stuff or alcohol you will be sent to The Torture Zone

deffo. frustrating that twitch gets away with stonewall responses to stuff like this. i suspect that a large part of it is twitch marketing themselves as safe to sponsors rather than actually doing anything with it, but that depends on being dishonest to streamers
