Rather than the town square, treat BlueSky like your favourite bar, pub or community. Just like you would avoid or silence snarky, argumentative fascist baiters, avoid them here. Block and don’t engage. Move on to the next cool interesting person. The trolls will eventually leave. Cheers!

So brilliant! Thank you! It's so nourishing to be back in a sane, healthy, and encouraging environment without all those trolls. My gosh that other world was so wonderful before the trolls and algorithms broke it. Such genius to decide to walk away from trolls!

Yes! Bought it! Destroyed it! And backed the biggest troll, the one who I still can't believe was elected. Insidious and disheartening. The US was progressive and had such a healthy ideal. Heartbreaking

Also, sorry, the US has been broken for years. It never got over the Civil War. Or the Cold War. The capitalism is off the scale. Poverty's off the scale. Food poverty is widespread. The Klan still exists! America tells itself very pretty stories, it could never happen here, etc. But it could, & is.

I think Musk is the biggest troll - and he's in the White House, nearly, & unelected. Even if he & Trump fall out, he's got his media & tech - he's got his surveillance system, and he's been having secret phone conversations with Putin for two years. He's one of the most dangerous men on the planet.

Agreed - I’ve been checking out each follower I pick up and blocking obvious trolls - also blocking anyone whose main feed appears to be endless US politics. Curating my feed to feel like a rather chatty library with room for quirkiness and a tolerance for misfits like me. Also #glutenfree cake. 😅

Yes! Genius bar analogy! That's literally what just happened in our U.S. election! It's so insidious and tough to recognize. Not everyone wears their Nazi uniform on that first encounter. And when some engage and are taken with the Nazi, how can we help?
