Look at these self-seeded oak and holly, grown together from a moss + filmy fern-covered bank, and ask yourself: could all this have ever been created through planting? The answer is a very definite no: only nature can do this. Only nature does actual *ecosystems*. 🌎

Can't resist sharing a pic of this oak which leans over the river at the bottom of our place near Ballydehob. I imagine it's roots doing something similar to the branches underground.
