The he people who work in those small rural hospitals are generally among the highest wage earners in their small towns. They make up a significant portion of the tax base and contribute much to the local economy. Killing Medicaid =killing hospitals=killing small (mostly Republican voting) towns.

This will happen in our small village that happens to have a nursing home. 85% are there on Medicaid. This not only affects them, but the jobs that will leave the area. Even the small local bus service that goes every hour to nursing home. It will devastate our community.

I lived in rural Mississippi and I can tell you that the loss of a hospital in a rural area not only impacts Healthcare but also the economy of the region. Driving two hours for a 15 minute doctor appointment and losing your job at the local hospital is not what people will get over easily.

What a pathetic creature he is. I live in Wisconsin and Trump promised no cuts to Medicare and social security. The people will make their voice heard in November 2026.
