Over at the newsletter I wrote about the media's total failure to responsibly cover batshit claims that software has gained human-level awareness and will soon kill us all

just endless sensationalized hyperbolic clickbait headlines candidly informing the public they're all about to die at the hands of auto-evolving swarms of sentient software, despite there's simply no evidence any of this is actually true and the whistleblowers provided no actual evidence

I think the entirety of the U.S. corporate press needs to be burned to the ground and replaced with perhaps some Krispy Kremes and a few new roller rinks until we can figure out how to rebuild a media that actually serves the public interest
