I loved this post. Humorously you mention economics and that's what I studied (more than once, even) before I did computer for work and I still remember looking at it and thinking it was magic and being a bit scared. I was lucky to have good friends encourage me though and I was able to learn.

Lots of different parts spoke to me but yeah maybe more than anything the idea that if something seems far away you can just start walking towards it and maybe if you keep walking you'll get there eventually has been something I've tried less eloquently to share with others.
