Using AI as a developer is a sacrifice. What to I sacrifice? Calm. Kindness. Kinship. Love. I’ve given up all chance at coding or reviews. I’ve made my mind a sunless chat. I share my dreams with agents.

I wake up every minute to a feature I delivered 30 seconds ago from which there’s only one conclusion, I’m not writing any code anymore. My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to code, my eagerness to deliver, they’ve set me on a path from which there is no escape.

I yearned to be a savior against bad coding practices without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down there was no longer any principles beneath my feet.

What is my sacrifice? I’m condemned to use the tools that will replace me to do my job. I burn my decency for someone else’s shares values. I burn my life to make a product that I know I’ll never see any benefits from.

And the ego that started this fight will never have a nice code quality report or a conference audience or the light of gratitude. So what do I sacrifice? Everything! (with my deepest apologies to Andor's writers)
