Yes, updating the SQLcl version on my macbook is THAT simple: 🔸 Download the latest version archive 🔸 Extract to a folder (like sqlcl_new) 🔸 Rename your existing sqlcl folder (like sqlcl_old) 🔸 Rename sqlcl_new folder to sqlcl 🔸 Restart any open Terminal 🔸 plamen$ sql -v 🔸 SQLcl: Release 24.4.1.0 🎉

Yes, good option. You might laugh at me, but I haven't got Homebrew yet. So sticking to the classic way for now. However, one line of code is better, so next update might be that way :)
