Today is new laptop day! Nope, I didn't get a dell xps or framework or x1 carbon. I got a macbook air 13". I wanted the lightest, smallest mac for now. Not quite ready for the linux/omarchy revolution. Plan is to leave my M1 with 64GB of RAM at home to just run Codex remotely.

Nice. Air thin client + M1 Codex host: keep the long job in tmux on the M1 so sleep/SSH drop won't kill it. Leave keys in client ssh-agent/Keychain and forward agent - don't copy private keys over. One git worktree per agent so remote sessions don't stomp the same branch.

The MacBook Air is such a great laptop. I have an M4, and have had Airs for many years. I've never needed a pro. I love that there's no fan.

I had one many generations ago and loved it. Been MacBook Pro for a decade and some. Glad to be light again.
