Starting to wonder if the next gen of o11y products isn’t just: ingests OTLP into ClickHouse and/or DataLake for you and allows you to set alerts (for agents, not people)

Want to debug something? Ask an agent Need a graph of something? Ask an agent Need a dashboard? Ask an agent

Think that approach works for some people but can still see cases where people want pre-bake visualisations as they don’t know what’s possible or don’t want to wait to an agent to figure out what it needs to do But yeh agents and telemetry are a good fit

Every time I follow this line of thinking I end up on this path: - Agents produce too much text and humans need visualizations for basically everything we do - it’s inevitable that this gets built into the harness and models - what is left for o11y products in this new world?

I do suspect there is quite a bit there, but it won’t look like today’s products
