obviously this sucks and you should opt out, but yet again twitch is conflating generative AI (bad) and regular machine learning (generally good and useful, been around forever), which is beyond frustrating.

I'm once again begging companies to stop conflating generative AI and normal machine learning. like, this doesn't sound to me like something you'd use an LLM for, so this probably... fine? and if that's the case, they're shooting themselves in the foot by calling it "AI" lol.

I hate the popularization of "AI" as a term because it's so non-specific. Is this generative AI, which has all the issues with energy usage, etc.? Or is this just some general application of machine learning, which has been around forever and is generally good? Genuinely unsure.
